Hiatus; Re-visited 24th Feb 2010

February 24

Hiatus ; Re-visited

Play That Funky Music – Wild Cherry
lemme count when was the last ever entry on my now defunct weblog..roughly 5-6 years since,..Chelsea became Chelski yea? Can’t recall. Should be about there..
this is not a flash in the pan; come on,. actions-wise i may be random, but i don’t ever plan on getting another weblog done/up ever since i found to my dismay that the host site removed my precious ancient first years ago.. mind yu Muse, or rather remember dead well that we started webloging way before the utter masses started to fashion it to their profiles and shorten it to blogs and cheapen the novelty of posting your inner voice somewhere..
oh that just does it!
mental images of equal self centered annoyance from girls and closets ranting about their daily bitch-modes whatever is going about its slide-show round in me…. yeah, that was an issue; finding your solace/pride being a simple medium of bitch-rants by the masses, especially those f-uglies whom decided that they are indeed special and important to their ‘peeps’ ..
annoying.
now that i’m comparing what else would be even more annoying …yeah i got it.
now,. that something pretty much took the cake would be the advanced level of those suckers that evolved to the point of words wouldn’t do the justice as a picture or rather video would mean more. yes. Yes. Those suckers that videologged themselves on their musings on every little itsy bitsy pieces of political/ mostly celebrity news on YouTube..  Prepubescent closets, old geeks dressed to the nines, big mommas..oh my goodness the horror!
Juxtaposed With U – Super Furry Animals
apt? hahah. mayhap.
re-reading the paragraph got me thinking.. perhaps i still have my part of being me, the hypocrite.

Re-post February 24th : On Movies

On : Movies

“[sigh] I don’t have the strength to stay away from you anymore”
Watched bit part of Twilight earlier.. and I might say that the quote above was no doubt in my books ‘The Ultimate Seal The Deal’ in the Hollywood clichéd pickup line for the tormented souls. If I were to somehow walk into a sliding glass door and enlightened in the process to start to write or rather compile a ‘1001 Pick-Up Lines For The New Age’… that courtesy of Senor Edward Cullen would be the 1001st.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not anti Twilight, nor Stephanie Meyer.. nor I’m a closet mega fan either.
somehow something just reminded me to do something right now,. now what was it? better speed along with this
what i have in mind’s eye is downright to this – it is the absolute ugly truth that girls love that bit of mystery in the guy – be it the darkness as long as they can’t figure yu out… at least in hollywood hah hah.
no need to guess which other movie i watched before Twilight eh?

2nd April Re-post : The Room

The Room

The sour taste in the mouth and putrid smell from the room roused my wake to the horror. The monstrosity is not this room, but it had done me in. My head throbbed with pain as I recalled being flung by it towards the wall. How long I was knocked out I am not sure.
I staggered up and took in the room. That horrible stench seems to be from the blackened boiling pot of mess that had an arm or leg sticking out of its frothy goo.
A boiled mass of a severed head rolled together with the bubbles and it could well be one of the villagers before me.
I tried the heavy doors again. Felt it budged slightly, but still held in place by a bar or some make shift object behind. Basic simple door made to imprison, without locks or keys to carry, or to break.
I searched around for any weapon or tool. No luck.
Hunger overtook me as I slumped down and think of any possible means of rescue. How long has it been that I’ve been held captive here in this dreaded dungeon beneath this old cathedral? Deep down in this labyrinth days and nights passed without the sliver of natural light to tell time. Even then it felt it was just yesterday that I first stepped foot on this town. The town called Tristram where I abandoned my then band of adventurers at the foothill before. My companions of sorts since we sailed over the seas to this accursed land to the west. Alas I might never get to know their names. The Warrior, The Rogue and The Sorcerer. I doubt they knew each other before the journey too as we kept to ourselves throughout. But we did good on the battlefield, with our different skills at work we were good against that raiding troop of bandits just before town.
The Sorcerer seeks the long lost tomes of magic that was supposed to be kept in the crypts here, he belonged to some order of mages in the far east land. The Warrior spoke least, yet I do sense he has some other motives aside from looting whatever there is to plunder from this wretched place. The Rogue, she said she belonged to some sisterhood or mercenaries from the woods to the south. She has an eye for targets as I could tell she has her way with bow and arrows. From our last night camped just out of town, I decided to venture before the break of dawn. I would have my part of spoils beforehand.
The town of Tristram is poor. I did not find any trinkets of worth, even the wares peddled by that peg-legged kid Wirt or Wert failed to impress me. But if I were to heed the boy’s advice I would not be in this misery. He mentioned of a terrible monstrosity that moved with great agility when he recounted the tale of how he lost his good leg. I am sure it is the same demon that got us both on separate occasions. Been held captive by this demon early on was not the richest of plunder from that cursed King Leoric’s tomb that I could ever see myself in. It was the greed.
The sweet sound of blades clashing and battle cries in a distance several floors above broke my thoughts. Mayhap it is them. A glimmer of hope filled my chest as the shouts became louder and sounded closer at hand. Mayhap my fortunes and my fate is intertwined with these bunch. I staggered to my feet and sally myself for the rescue. The sound of a bar lifted off the door from the outside and for the time being I could still make out the battle cries were still ongoing, in the distance. Not any closer. I stood frozen as in comes that abomination that I had run into twice in as many days. The hair on my back stood as he weaved his very much bloodied meat cleaver and stepped closer, barring any escape. It’s horns gleamed, body soaked in sweat and blood and gore and with a snigger all I could remember its last few words..“Fresh meat”

Re-post April 3rd : The Expendables

Found this picture of the ancient dragon who shares the namesake of a famous black cartoon cat off the promotional photo for the upcoming film The Expendables (2010) which is set for early year end release.
The film features an all-star cast of your favorite badass villain and hero from the past 20 years or so. Yeah, an all star cast of action stars such as Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren (hmm, longer life than the Belgian shortie eh?) , Mickey Rourke, Stone Cold Steve Austin plus confirmed cameos of Bruce Willis and that Guv’ Schwarzenegger. Hmm,. there should be some other fellahs that I might’ve missed out.. yeah that always funny and large-tongued Terry Crews, plus the psycho Danny Trejo has some bit parts methinks.
Of course on the forum boards there were discussions and suggestions of which other action film stars that is missing from this motley crew… yeah the list stood (and which I agreed to be eligible/ sorely missed from the ensemble imho) are in random order ; Jackie Chan (him and his many cameos elsewhere), Antonio Banderas (maybe the least ‘action’ star), Tony Jaa (why not? Rest of the world selection eh?), Wesley Snipes (come on, he’s the only badass kicking black), The Rock (maybe he got canned because Stallone himself stole that set of nice tatts?), Jean Claude Van Damme (the Belgian shorty, now I reckon he’d be about Jet Li’s height eh?), Ray Park (imagine him and Tony Jaa and their mad stunts), Chuck Norris (if he can still stand..) and eh.. how about Vinnie Jones? nah two Brits, no way.
Anyway,. all I’m in awe at this ancient piece of meat aside from the fake tatts is his age.. Goodness he must be about 50 pushing 60 something like that eh? And the bod, perhaps a coupla syringes and dozens of pills aid thus, but hey the work out? dayyumm.. Now I remember his aged weathered face when he appeared on Rambo 4 a couple of years back… but now he looks toighter ,.
Yeah one of the many promotional posters of the film…

6th April 2010 Re-post: Captain America lead cast & Resident Evil:Afterlife

There I found it! A zoomed in screenshot off the reflection the one and only Wentworth Miller as big brother Chris Redfield.. by golly this does look like the character.
hmm,.. wait a minute, as I closed up on this, there is another female in the background of Wesker that’s imposed over by the reflection of Ali Larter (Claire Redfield) huh? wonder who’d she be in the screen?
(March 2011 - lol, thats just Milla Jovovich; so much for speculations)
As of what I’ve spied off the rumor mill, apparently this edition would most probably be the end of Milla Jovovich’s Alice; as the next possible plot for R.E. 5 & 6 respectively would be of the continued fight/extermination effort from the rest of the gang headed by Chris & Claire, with possibly a re-cast of Jill Valentine (don’t think they’d get that French actress back as what I’ve read, but of course its possible, but they’d still need more star power) and of course, the still favorite yet ‘reclusive’ Leon S. Kennedy ;)
which begs for another paragraph really for that once-partner of Claire yet miraculously has yet to appear so far in the silver screen.. who would be cast as the fan (gamer) favorite? Rumor mill would be Jensen Ackles (Supernatural, right?) or was it the other dude playing the brother?
but in my opinion; either of these two wouldn’t exactly result in “Eager Anticipation” mode for the character; yeah no doubt they’ve got some pull as being in that series; but Wentworth is also another (albeit being better in acting, imho)… but that would all turn if Wentworth Miller's Chris Redfield gets the nod on this coming October release here.. all in all, I will be waiting for this one for sure.

On the current hand, finally the damn cast is set for next year’s anticipated The First Avenger: Captain America. Well, the protagonist of course! After months of rumors and stuff,. the chosen one is Chris Evans ( Human Torch @ Fantastic 4)… which to me,.. is pretty much a disappointment. Don’t get me wrond, I like Chris Evans, even as stereotypical as he is as an actor…which actually fits him the bill as the Human Torch a couple of years back..but him, in a title role? and someone as important, pivotal and straightforward leader as the Captain? I just don’t see it. He is just too cheeky and smart-assed in almost every other role he played at, and just ain’t the brooding hero type that commands respect from the field team that would lead Iron Man, Thor & the rest is he? From his age, the plot would focus on how Captain aka Steve Rogers got optioned to serve in that special program ultimately making him Captain America plus some humor and love story arc …but I dare not think of how the end of the movie would be unless director Joe Johnston pulls a magic bunny out of his hat. It doesn’t have to be Nolan-esque or Snyder-ish, (and most certainly not Michael Bay) but it should be something really good to have this audience to be convinced of a younger Captain America being pulled to join and form The Avengers; and seeing this young looking Captain America sharing battle time with the gang the year after in The Avengers Initiative (2012)
Casting Captain America was a very tough decision, hence the delay so far, and with so many in contention, not in merit, but more to mass disagreement on a character of the importance. I can’t seem to recall all the rumored casting as the list is way long but I’ll give it a shot on the few worth mentioning.. there was Sam Worthington, Will Smith, Channing Tatum, Matt Damon, ..
My vote would go to Sam Worthington or Channing Tatum if they were to stick to the younger Captain story arc by the end.. Worthington isn’t just that he would look great in tights or behind a shield like how he is in The Clash Of The Titans, but he does look aged enough to pass off when they are in the gang soon. But of course, general media would go cahoots over this seemingly he is an Australian. Which is just plain immature as I think of this over. Come on, for many a years Hollywood have cast differing nationalities in big title roles on other national or folklore or modern fictional heroes such as Robin Hood (American and the reboot an Aussie), Alexander (Irish), Gladiator (Australian), 300 (English), Troy (ahh, American, i love him), Braveheart (Australian),  Wolverine (Australian), Dark Knight (English)..
I mean, almost every one of these lead roles casting drew in the blockbuster with their performance, did it not?
Which basically to me begs the question. whats in it just being a name? More over a comic book hero, cult status or not.
Timid.

Inglourious Basterds - repost

April 08

Inglourious Basterds

Finally I’ve watch the movie.
It was awesome, with a superb cast and simple plot, and cinematography at one its best; distinctly a Tarantino gem. The other aspect that made the film so enjoyable was the language was thrown in a great jumble of mix to heighten the mood and message. The fluency of the actors conversing in the film alternates well with french to german, german to english and of course the bumbling italian from Brad Pitt and Eli Roth was a dead sucker punch that tickles so.
Great cast (and cameo of Mike Myers as the Brit General) overall from Brad Pitt – of course,  Michael Fassbender’s (300 Spartans) elegant but short-lived Brit spy, Diane Krueger’s German-Brit double spy a noteworthy performance, Til Schweiger’s crazy assed Hugo Stiglitz, the french girl with her emotions, the little potrayal of Sir Winston Churchill, the German Major that was brilliant but lost his balls to Stiglitz in the table shootout, and of course Christoph’ Waltz’ enigmatic cunning and cruel potrayal as the Jew Hunter. Evil. Wicked. Looking dead forward to his next performance as another villain as Chudnofsky in The Green Hornet (2010) together with Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Cameron Diaz.
Well my favorite line of all would be Stiglitz's '”say auf wedersehen to your nazi balls” . Classic.

R.I.P Kevin's Space (feat. Wordpress.com) Part 1

Going thru my previous blog entries (circa 2009/10) on Windows Live and yeah I am going to re-post 'em over here .. (just to keep it filled and not so bare looking; sad ain't it?)
Just too bad the weblog from eons ago that I kept during my wilderness years of 2000-2005 has already FUBAR-ed; must've been the case of not logging in for far too long a period of time... It would be great to reminisce of how life was... #correction .. i think there's just loads of football bickering, and perhaps some short stories..

spent an hour or so trying to link it here (confession, yeah spent some of it re-reading the few posts actually)
now how do I go about this....

lol, now i ended getting another weblog account.
what actually transpired - Microsoft Windows Live is shutting down soon, so yeah there's this nifty little message about it and a real nifty button to 'transfer' to this authorized site @ Wordpress.com bla bla blah... but little did i know, the posts from the previous blog does not transfer there, so yeah some help here? no more nifty buttons dammit...
so much for the nifty feature for crossover. bah
just in case i forget all about this - http://szeyu.wordpress.com

Guess I have to resort to re-posting it over here one by one?
Minion, you fantastic fish, you!

Sucker Punch

Blades, Guns, Explosives, Mecha, Slow-Mo's & Heroics
Typical Zack Snyder fare?
Of course, he delivers as in the same vein as 300 and Watchmen.

Sucker Punch follows the story of Baby Doll (Emily Browning - Lemony Snickett's A Series of Unfortunate Events) institutionalized by evil step-father into a mental asylum. There, she creates her alternate reality and together with Rocket (Jena Malone), Amber (Jamie Chung), Blondie (Vanessa Hudgens) and Sweet Pea (Abbie Cornish) they did their blade-dance and monster-slaying in order to get the 5 items for their escape.

this picture of Jamie Chung with lollipop is for you, you know who you are ;)

Notable performance from this caretaker Blue (Oscar Isaac - Robin Hood) guy, decent mash of covers for soundtrack and of course the CGI is tops; with Snyder's trademark slow-mo + speed-ups.

                                Adorable Mecha-Bunny

>>>>>>>>>>>>> spoiler alert<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Good mini twist in the end; made oneself think about purpose in a bigger picture.

Typical Zack Snyder fare?
of course, on a side note, this is 3 reasons why he'd make it work for us to salivate waiting for next years' Superman: Man of Steel (darn, what's the new Supes' actor, again?)

Let's Try This, Shall We?

I've been here, didn't I?

well, irregardless, this must've been another case of deja vu of being on a new post and not saving, or was it something else?
we'll publish and bookmark this and we'll transfer some of the other weblogs over here, shall we?
